Darci Flatley is a writer and editor based in San Francisco, CA.
I won my first essay contest when I was in the 2nd grade, and received a spa day package for my mom. It was a Mother’s Day themed contest and we were to write about why our mother deserved the relaxing day. Years later, my first real publication in the Australian Anthology, Signs of Life, was also an essay about my mom.
Writers are told from a very young age that a career as a writer is not a sustainable one. Despite this, I earned my BA in English with a minor in Writing, and my MFA in Nonfiction Writing. I have worked in a variety of writing-centric roles. I served as the Nonfiction Editor for the debut edition of the Invisible City Literary Journal, working to bring diverse voices to life. I’ve worked in communications for a variety of nonprofits, utilizing writing as a tool to bring in donations and community engagement. My professional career as a technical writer challenges me to comprehend and interpret complex technical information, and make it accessible for a wide variety of audiences.
I look forward to connecting and finding a way to bring your words to life.
